부활절 / 4월 세번째 주일

부활절, 돌을 옮겨 놓아라

우리는 오늘 사망권세를 이기시고 부활하신 주님의 능력을 찬양하고 예수 그리스도를 죽음에서 일으키신 하나님의 부활 능력을 증언하기 위해 이 자리에 모였습니다. 부활은 우리의 희망이요 하나님의 약속입니다. 연약한 꽃 한송이가 딱딱한 겨울 얼음을 뚫고 땅위로 올라오듯이 부활은 딱딱하고 어두운 죽음을 뚫고나와 우리에게 새로운 생명을 만들어 줍니다. 부활은 하나님의 승리를 선언하는 것이요 어둠이 빛을 이길 수 없다는 것을 깨닫는 것입니다. 부활은 미래에 일어날 뿐만 아니라 현재에서도 일어납니다. 죽음에서 다시 일어서는 것이 미래의 부활이라면 슬픔과 절망에서 다시 일어서는 것은 현재의 부활입니다. 예수님은 죽은 나사로를 찾아가셔서 무덤 속에 갇혀 있는 나사로를 일으키셨습니다. 오늘 말씀에 나오는 예수님의 3가지 말씀을 자세히 보면 부활이 무엇인지를 알 수 있습니다. 첫째로 주님께서는 죽은 나사로를 가두고 있는 무덤 문을 열라고 말씀하셨습니다. 부활은 죽음의 문을 여는 것입니다. 사람을 가두고 매장하는 무거운 돌문, 사람을 질식하게 만들고 바깥으로 나오지 못하게 막고 있는 문을 여는 것입니다. 사람을 죽게 만들고 병들게 만드는 차별과 억압의 문, 사람을 가두고 억압하는 죽음의 문을 치워야 합니다. 주님께서는 무덤 문을 여시지 않고 우리들에게 무덤 문을 열라고 말씀하셨습니다. 우리가 돌문을 옮겨야 합니다. 우리가 억압과 차별의 문을 치워야 합니다. 부활은 무거운 돌문을 옮기는 것에서부터 시작합니다. 이것이 부활의 첫번째 능력입니다.
두번째로 주님께서는 “나사로야, 밖으로 나오너라” 말씀하셨습니다. 죽음에 갇혀 있지 말고, 동굴에 갇혀 있지 말고 밝은 생명의 세계로 나오라고 말씀하셨습니다. 부활은 어두운 곳에서 밝은 곳으로 나가는 것입니다. 어둠 속에 있는 사람들을 향해서 외치는 것입니다. “어둠 속에 갇혀 있지 말고 밖으로 나오십시오. 죽음의 돌문에 갇혀 있지 말고 밖으로 나오십시오.” 주님께서 나사로에게 밖으로 나오라고 외쳤을 때, 나사로는 주님의 음성을 듣고 밖으로 나왔습니다. 부활은 다시 일어서는 것입니다. 죽음과 어둠의 문을 박차고 밖으로 나오는 것입니다. 사람들 중에는 무덤 문이 열렸음에도 불구하고 여전히 무덤 안에 갇혀 있는 사람들이 있습니다.과거의 죽음과 상처와 기억에 머물러 있으면 안됩니다. 주님의 음성을 듣고 밖으로 나와야 합니다. 주님 계시는 은혜의 세상으로 나와야 합니다. 무덤 문이 열렸습니다. 주님께서 우리를 향해서 밖으로 나오라고 말씀하십니다. 이것이 부활의 두번째 능력입니다. 마지막 세번째로 주님께서는 나사로를 풀어서 가게 하라고 말씀하셨습니다. 나사로를 똘똘 묶고 있었던 천과 수건을 풀어주고 새 옷을 입혀서 나가게 하라고 말씀하셨습니다. 부활은 풀어주는 것입니다. 자유를 주는 것입니다. 죽음의 옷을 벗기고 자유의 옷을 입혀주는 것입니다. 나사로를 병들어 죽게 만들었던 사탄의 권세를 쫓아내고 생명의 옷을 입혀 주는 것입니다. 사랑하는 성도 여러분, 부활은 우리의 희망이요 하나님의 약속입니다. 주님께서는 오늘날에도 우리들에게 부활의 능력을 베풀어 주십니다. 사람을 억압하고 가두는 죽음의 문을 열라고 말씀하시고 어두운 곳에 있지 말고 밖으로 나오라고 말씀하십니다. 우리를 가두는 억압의 옷을 벗겨 주시고 은혜와 생명과 자유의 옷을 입혀 주십니다. “저 죽음의 문을 열어라, 나사로야 밖으로 나오너라, 나사로의 결박을 풀어주고 새 옷을 입혀서 걸어가게 하여라” 주님께서 말씀하셨습니다. 사랑하는 성도 여러분, 바로 이 음성이 부활의 능력이요, 영광인줄로 믿습니다. 우리를 찾아오셔서 죽음의 문을 여시고 우리를 밖으로 부르실 뿐만 아니라 우리에게 새 옷을 입혀주시는 주님의 부활 능력을 날마다 체험하시는 성도님들 되시기를 간절히 바랍니다. 아멘.
Resurrection, take away the stone
John 11:38 - 44
Today we celebrate Resurrection, the risen Christ, and God's victory over death. Resurrection is our hope and God's promise for new life. Easter is to proclaim that death cannot win over life, and darkness cannot suppress light. Just as a small flower breaks through the winter ice and rises to the ground, Resurrection breaks through darkness and creates a new life. Resurrection occurs not only in the future but also in the present. If future Resurrection means to make the dead alive, present Resurrection means to raise us from sorrow and despair.
According to today's scripture, Jesus went to Lazarus who was already dead and raised him up. According to today’s passages, Jesus showed us through his three words, what the true meaning of Easter is something like. First, Jesus said to the people, "Take away the stone." Easter is to open and remove the stone door that locks people up in the darkness. Easter begins when we take away heavy stone doors, moving away the barriers of discrimination and oppression that make people die and ill. Moving away the stone, this is the first symbol of Resurrection. Second, Jesus said to Lazarus, "Come out, Lazarus!" Jesus told him not to be trapped in death, but to come out of the tomb. When Jesus cried out to Lazarus, Lazarus heard the voice of the Lord and came out. Easter is something like to raise someone up and to call someone out of the door of death and darkness. Even today Jesus talks to those inside the darkness, "Dear my daughter and my son, do not stay inside darkness and despair. Rise up and come out of the tomb." Calling someone out from darkness, this is the second symbol of Resurrection. Third, Jesus told people to let Lazarus go free. He told them to loosen the cloth and the towel that were keeping Lazarus tight, and let him go out with new clothes. Resurrection is to release someone and to give freedom to those living without freedom. Today's scripture shows us that Easter means to strip the clothes of death and put on the new clothes of freedom. It is to cast out the power of Satan that made Lazarus sick and die and to wear the new clothes of life. Letting someone go free and putting on new cloth, this is the third symbol of Resurrection.
Dear beloved believers, Resurrection is our hope and God's promise. Even today, God gives us the power of resurrection. Even today, God opens the door of death, calls us out of darkness, takes away the clothes of oppression, and gives us the clothes of grace, life, and freedom. "Open the door of death, Lazarus, come out, let his strap loose, and put on new clothes to walk." I believe that this voice is the voice of resurrection and the voice of victory and glory. I sincerely hope that everyone will see the risen Christ who not only opens the door of death and calls us out, but also put new clothes and let us go free into the new life.
